David Smelson is a co-founder of Shooting with Chefs and sales director of the Mid-Atlantic region for Micros Retail Systems. With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Smelson has focused the last two decades of that in the technology space on point-of-sale systems and hospitality solutions to restaurant groups ranging from independent operators to international chains.
Smelson is a connoisseur of fine food and an amateur chef, founding and maintaining the blog and production company Pleasures of the Table LLC.His operational experience spans both independent and chain restaurants across the eastern U.S., including Back Bay Restaurant Group, Buffalo Wild Wings, Legal Seafoods, and Radisson Hotels.
Smelson is a certified range officer, firearms enthusiast, amateur gunsmith, and occasionally enters local rifle and pistol competitions. This year marks the seventh year Smelson has co-hosted Shooting with Chefs.
